Didn't you learn anything? (2021)

De wereldwijde Coronacrisis versterkte het bewustzijn dat het ongebreideld rondvliegen over wereld niet meer bij de huidige tijd past. Meteen na de eerste grote lockdowns toonden de luchtvaartmaatschappijen weinig vliegbeheersing, en boden direct weer vluchten aan voor schaamteloze bodemprijzen.

Als micro-protest bestelde ik een retourticket naar de goedkoopste bestemming (Amsterdam - Dublin, €21,28) onder de passagiersnaam 'Didn't you learn Anything?'. Tenminste één goedkope stoel verdween van de markt. Uiteraard bleef hij leeg.

The global Corona crisis has reinforced the awareness that our time of rampant flight around the world has ended. However, immediately after the first major lockdowns, the airlines showed little sense of such 'flying self-control'. Many airlines offered flights for the same shameless bottom prices as before the pandemic.

As a micro-protest I ordered a return ticket to the cheapest destination (Amsterdam - Dublin, €21,28) under the passenger name 'Didn't you learn anything?'. At least one cheap chair disappeared from the market. Of course this chair remained empty.
